There Are No Words

Since news of the shooting in Newtown broke on Friday, I have been a big ball of emotions.  It's difficult to know what to say.  There are no words.

Last night, I saw this article with quotes from Mister Rogers.  This one jumped out at me:

“There’s no ‘should’ or ‘should not’ when it comes to having feelings. They’re part of who we are and their origins are beyond our control. When we can believe that, we may find it easier to make constructive choices about what to do with those feelings.”

From The World According to Mister Rogers

Such a very wise man.

  1. I consider myself so fortunate to have grown up in the late 70s/early 80s with Mister Rogers. He always seems to know the right things to say and the right ways to say it.

It's a shame our kids don't have someone on TV like him today to keep them innocent, positive, and compassionate.
